Lynna went above and beyond when I stayed in the hospital a month ago. She made sure I was always comfortable, considering she knew how much I didn’t want to be there. When times got frustrating, she gave my mom and me both a hug and said she would pray for me. She was also constantly trying to get me answers as quickly as possible. She even chased down one of the doctors so that they would get into my room faster. She not only made me feel comfortable during my stay, but also my family, by bringing them food and drinks. You could just tell she knew what she was doing. She knew her job. She knew how to make you feel comfortable and safe during tough times. She genuinely cared about me and wanted to know the answers to what was going on as much as I did. She also took the time to actually bond with me over the things I enjoyed. Over the little time I was there, I felt I had known her just by how much she was always checking in on me. As soon as I left the hospital, my mom and I wanted to do something to recognize Lynna and her outstanding job at taking care of me. Today, I was sitting at an appointment and saw a sign for the DAISY Award, and knew this was the perfect opportunity to point out Lynna and her amazing work. Thank you, Lynna, for making me feel safe when I was so scared.
