I was admitted via the ER after testing was complete. At the time I was admitted, my husband was in the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House, behind the hospital. During the eight days I was in the hospital, my family was made aware that my husband was in critical condition and wasn't sure how long he had to live. I figured I wasn't going to see him again. Samantha said that I needed to say goodbye to my husband. She went to her superiors to get permission to take me in a wheelchair to the Hospice House to see him. A security guard was requested, and they, along with my son, wheeled me over to see him. The weather was really nice that day. I cannot even begin to tell you what this meant to me. I was overwhelmed that she offered to do this for me. She took care of me the remainder of my stay. Her care and going out of her way to allow me the time to see my husband qualify her for this award. My husband has now passed away.
