I remember her patiently answering my questions late at night, always with a calming presence and kind demeanor. Her ability to balance medical expertise with deep empathy truly set her apart.
I would like to nominate T for the DAISY Award for her extraordinary care, compassion, and professionalism during my brother’s stay in the ICU. From the moment we arrived at the hospital, T made an immediate impact, not only on my brother’s care but also on our family’s emotional well-being.
T went above and beyond to ensure that my brother was comfortable and that we, as a family, understood his condition. She took the time to explain the complex medical information in a way we could comprehend, ensuring that we felt involved and informed at every step. I remember her patiently answering my questions late at night, always with a calming presence and kind demeanor. Her ability to balance medical expertise with deep empathy truly set her apart.
During a particularly difficult moment, when my brother’s condition took a turn for the worse, T stayed by our side, offering not just medical care but emotional support. She held our hands, reassured us, and gave us the time we needed to process the situation. I will never forget how she made sure my brother was as comfortable as possible, adjusting his position frequently and checking on him often, even when the ICU was busy.
T also went out of her way to provide comfort to me and my family, understanding that being in the ICU is an overwhelming experience. She made sure we were able to step outside for a break when needed and checked in with us frequently, ensuring we felt supported throughout the long days.
Her compassion was unwavering, and I believe that my brother received the best care possible because of her dedication, expertise, and kindness. She made a traumatic experience much more bearable, and for that, our family will always be grateful.
T is the embodiment of what it means to be a nurse: skilled, compassionate, and dedicated to her patients and their families. She made an incredible impact on our family, and we believe she is more than deserving of the DAISY Award. T, you’re a true powerhouse! Thank you for all the care you provided. It truly made a difference to have a nurse who was empathetic and on top of her game on one of the hardest days. I hope you continue to get “the party started.” Your patients are so lucky to have you.

I'm proud to nominate Teyonye Mosley for the DAISY Award. As a Surgical ICU nurse, she truly embodies compassionate, patient-focused care. Recently, she cared for a critically ill trauma patient with multiple complications. She handled the complex situation with skill and ensured the family understood every aspect of the care plan. She even stayed late to support a grieving mother, advocated for needed resources, and worked with different teams to provide seamless care. Her compassion, expertise, and commitment make her a vital part of our 5A SICU team.
