We had two patients come into our clinic who were unhoused. They both had head lice and scabies. Nurse Jarrah saw these two patients and treated both conditions, even though we typically do not treat scabies, because we do not stock the medication in our clinic. Nurse Jarrah went above and beyond to reach out to our pharmacist to get us the Permethrin cream so we could treat both conditions in one clinic, rather than sending them to a different clinic to get the second treatment. The patients asked Jarrah where they could shower after she educated them on the treatment regimen. Jarrah thought quickly on her feet and asked advice from leadership to see where we could coordinate a shower for our unhoused patients. Jarrah went above and beyond to secure a shower for the two patients at the Nashville Rescue Mission. The patients waited in our clinic for a few hours while contact was made to the Rescue Mission, forms were filled out, and a plan was formulated. The whole time Jarrah kept the patients informed. She offered them Cheez-Its and water while they were waiting and supplied them with shower kits. Great job, Nurse Jarrah!
