As the current Lead for the Frederick County, MD PACE Chapter, LCDR Agaba has been instrumental in forging meaningful connections and partnerships to tackle health disparities affecting vulnerable populations.
LCDR Pamela Agaba is a dedicated and passionate advocate for advancing health equity and addressing health disparities. Over the past year, her contributions have made a significant impact in underserved communities, exemplifying the core values of the DAISY Award. Through her active involvement in over 12 health outreach events via the Prevention through Active Community Engagement (PACE) program, she has represented the Surgeon General and the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps with great distinction. As the current Lead for the Frederick County, MD PACE Chapter, LCDR Agaba has been instrumental in forging meaningful connections and partnerships to tackle health disparities affecting vulnerable populations.
In addition, LCDR Agaba has made significant contributions to PACE initiatives by contributing to developing lesson plans on Water Safety and Drowning prevention. These educational materials have had a direct impact on community members, equipping them with essential knowledge to stay safe. Her nursing expertise and commitment to the community also shone through when she provided health screenings to over 70 individuals at the 2024 Frederick Community Health Fair, addressing social determinants of health by offering vital health services to those who may not otherwise have access.
LCDR Agaba’s commitment to health equity extended beyond her local community when she delivered critical nursing care to more than 300 members of the Hualapai Tribe in Peach Springs, Arizona, following devastating flooding. Her ability to educate, build community, and increase access to much-needed care is inspiring to all who meet her, especially her patients.
