I am nominating Paige for a DAISY Award in recognition of her exceptional care, compassion, and dedication to both my physical and emotional well-being during my recent hospitalization.
As a team member, being admitted could have been overwhelming, but Paige’s professionalism and empathy made all the difference.

From the moment she became involved in my care, Paige demonstrated a level of attention and compassion that far exceeded my expectations. I was admitted for several days without receiving my necessary post-traumatic stress disorder care, including my medication and the presence of my service dog. Paige recognized this gap and took immediate, decisive action to address the issue.

She took it upon herself to speak with my medical team, ensuring that my medications were restarted, even when my primary medication was unavailable in the pharmacy. Paige provided me with a coloring book and crayons, understanding the importance of both emotional and mental support in addition to medical care. Her thoughtful approach significantly contributed to my emotional stability during a time of distress.

Paige’s actions were monumental in my recovery and progress towards discharge. She made me feel seen and heard, demonstrating a level of care and sincerity that had a profound impact on me, both as a patient and a member of the VCU community. Her commitment to patients goes beyond fulfilling her nursing responsibilities. She genuinely cares for the well-being of each person she serves.

I'm truly grateful for Paige’s unwavering support and exceptional care during my hospitalization – her kindness, professionalism, and advocacy had a lasting impact.
