She was constantly making sure I was comfortable.  Shannon is the kindest human.  When I stalled at 8cm, she was sure to encourage and check on me.  She is a nurse who will hold your hand the whole way.
Shannon was absolutely outstanding.  From shift change, she came in and immediately had a bubbly and welcoming personality.  Throughout the labor process, she was so encouraging!  She ensured I changed positions, was feeling well, made sure to answer all of my husband’s silly questions, and would laugh at all our “funny” jokes.  Any time the monitor went off, she was quick to come into the room.  She always communicated everything to us and reassured us on any of our concerns.  I honestly don’t think I would have made it without her.  When I started having pain with my epidural, she would listen and believe me.  She was constantly making sure I was comfortable.  Shannon is the kindest human.  When I stalled at 8cm, she was sure to encourage and check on me.  She is a nurse who will hold your hand the whole way.  When I was FINALLY complete, Shannon was so excited (maybe even more than I was)!  She literally started clapping and jumping up and down.  I didn’t have the time to stress because she was the best cheerleader I could have asked for.  She coached me through my pushes and was so encouraging.  I cannot believe the level of confidence she gave me!  Once my little man was born, Shannon was still so excited.  Shannon’s shift was coming to an end, and I told this crazy lady to go home, but she came back in and checked on us when she should have been on her way home to her family.  The 12 hours I spent with her will forever be the only reason I would have another baby!  Shannon’s sweet self even visited us on our discharge day and she wasn’t even our nurse!  I pray that everyone receives a nurse as loving, kind, talented, caring, and encouraging as Shannon.  I cry thinking about my experience because she truly is the best.

I wanted to thank Shannon for being a great nurse and support person for me throughout my labor.  Things began to get stressful and she handled every situation so calmly.  She ended up staying over her shift to be there when we welcomed our baby boy.  Thank you!

At my 36-week OB appointment, I was sent to triage in Labor and Delivery for my high blood pressure. Shannon was my nurse and went above and beyond to explain things to me, answer my questions, and gave me reassurance. I didn't expect to see her again after we were released from triage. When we got admitted for the induction the following Tuesday, she was there, and I had no expectation of her remembering me, but she did and was assigned to be my nurse again. Monday into Tuesday, Shannon again went above and beyond to make me feel like I understood everything happening to my body, why the doctor was recommending things, etc. My labor quickly progressed on Tuesday afternoon, and there were some scary moments where baby's heart rate was dropping. Every time Shannon came in, she took what was happening seriously and took action quickly to try to get us stable.  With every position change and all the times she had to come in and out of our room due to my blood pressure, she always remained upbeat and calm. It helped me so much! I got to 8.5cm rather quickly, and then had another scare with baby's heart rate. The room quickly filled with what felt like 10+ doctors and nurses. The entire time, I knew I had an advocate with Shannon. I had so much peace knowing she was there, knew me, and knew my baby. After 10 minutes of pushing, my baby girl was here and safe. I cannot say enough how grateful I am for Shannon's ability to balance what was surely a busy day on the floor and still give me the attention and focus to feel like everything would be okay. If not, what would happen and when. Shannon made the entire experience so much more positive! Thank you, Shannon!!
