You talk about amazing. Amanda is an amazing nurse. I want her to receive this award because she’s everything that you would want from a nurse. She has the compassion. She is such a hard worker. She had a few minutes to sit down, hold my hands, and assured me everything’s going to be OK. She had to leave to attend to the duties at hand, but she assured me that she would be back when all of her charges were taken care of.

Amanda came back for another few minutes to sit down and to listen; she just wanted to listen. She allowed me to just cry. She said just what I needed to hear; she assured me that I was someone special. She told me how amazing I was, and it meant a lot to me because no one ever tells me I’m any good to anyone. It was just something special about her. I am recognizing Amanda for her compassion, her kindness, and her willingness to give that extra special touch to her charges again. I thank you for her.
