Her support gave us peace of mind and made a stressful night feel manageable, even joyful at times. We are incredibly grateful for Sarah and the care she provided.
I’d like to nominate Nurse Sarah for the DAISY Award in recognition of her exceptional care during our second night in the Postpartum unit. From the moment she entered our room, Sarah brought a calm, kind, and patient presence that made a lasting impression on our new family. She managed the delicate balance of caring for both mom and baby throughout the night, making each of them feel like her top priority. Her confidence and tenderness with our newborn, M, immediately put us at ease. Sarah not only helped Mom get a few much-needed hours of sleep, but she also offered steady, compassionate support during some of the most emotional and overwhelming moments of early breastfeeding. She approached everything—from clinical care to emotional reassurance—with grace and attentiveness. What truly stood out was the way she went above and beyond in the smallest of ways. She fashioned M’s beanie into a little pair of bear ears—such a simple gesture, but one that brought genuine smiles and warmth during an exhausting time. She was quiet and gentle when she had to wake us, and thoughtful in how she handled M's labs, making sure not to disturb our rest unless necessary. Sarah didn’t just take care of Mom and baby—she cared for me as well. She gave me the space to rest when possible and treated us as a team navigating parenthood together. Her support gave us peace of mind and made a stressful night feel manageable, even joyful at times. We are incredibly grateful for Sarah and the care she provided. She set a new standard for bedside nursing in our eyes, and we wholeheartedly nominate her for the DAISY Award in honor of the profound impact she made on our family.
