Tory isn’t one to draw a lot of attention to herself, but she’s an amazing nurse! She is a critical thinker and advocates for the patients, even if it means asking questions of other team members. She never has anything other than an optimistic smile, and she always goes the extra mile in her care. Tory has helped onboard our new nurses. She’s a great teacher. We are lucky to have her on our staff. She goes above and beyond for her patients.
***
Tory has been a nurse since 2021. She graduated from nursing school at Central Wyoming College in Riverton. She worked in Casper at the Wyoming Medical Center before joining the Sublette County Health team.
Her patients note, “I do not like needles. Getting blood drawn or shots has always been super stressful. When Tory offered to help me, I didn’t even feel it! Now she assists me in my weekly medication shot. I don’t know what I would do without her!” When not at work, you can find her barrel racing, doing rodeos, or anything with her horses.
To celebrate the DAISY Award and Nurses’ Week, Nurses from the Hospital District, the Sublette Center, SCSD #1, SCSD #9, and Public Health were invited to enjoy a relaxing meal at Lakeside and celebrate their profession. Nurses are the backbone of their healthcare organizations, and while we are thankful for their service year-round, it’s important to stop and take a moment to appreciate everything they do.
