Carl is an outstanding student who always does more than he is expected to. He serves as a mentor to all students who have questions and is very approachable. Many students believe that Carl is reliable, always helping with different tasks to help everyone get on the same page and prevent delays. In the clinical setting, he is not afraid to care for patients, even those whom nurses say students should stay away from because they may be too needy. During outreaches, he also does not hesitate to reach out to clients and members of the population. He also always offers a thorough explanation that eases those he meets.

Carl goes above and beyond to care for his patients and the people he interacts with throughout the nursing program. In addition to CNSA, he is also a part of the Community Preventive Health Collaborative, which focuses on setting up clinics, especially in areas that have limited access to health care. In addition to this, he has also gone on multiple global nursing outreaches outside of the country to serve the population, such as in Zambia and Costa Rica. This individual also does not hesitate to provide care, even to those who may seem intimidating. He always finds a way to connect with the client and understand the issues they are going through.

Carl excels in all nursing classes he takes. Whenever the group is silent and does not know the answer, Carl does not hesitate to answer the question, even if he is wrong. He is also one of our skills lab assistants, helping out and mentoring students with different nursing skills. Even to those who are seniors, he is so reliable that many people look to him as a leader. Carl is also a part of a few honor societies, including the Helen Hawk Honor Society and the Sigma Theta Tau International Society of Nursing. Carl also serves as the class representative, always communicating on behalf of the students to the faculty and always advocating for the students. He plays such a big role in our nursing program, as many people depend on him, even faculty members.
