Rebecca didn’t just provide care—she provided dignity, humanity, and healing at a time when I needed it most.
It is with immense gratitude and deep respect that I nominate Rebecca Andre for recognition as an Extraordinary Nurse.

During one of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of my life—a false alarm followed by a complicated preterm delivery—Rebecca was my steady guide, fierce advocate, and compassionate presence. As they rolled me into labor and delivery, Rebecca got eye level with me, spoke to me in calm affirmations, held my hand, and narrated everything in real time and all the next steps.

From the moment I was admitted – overwhelmed and scared – the entire nursing staff made me feel seen, safe, and informed. They walked me through every procedure, explained every decision, and never once let me feel alone. In moments when I couldn’t find the strength to speak up, they were my voice. When I needed reassurance, they offered calm, hugs, and prayed with me. When I needed strength, they lent me theirs.

For Rebecca to stand out in the midst of the professionalism and compassion shone to me speaks to just how incredible a nurse she is because this staff is truly top notch.

The combination of Rebecca Andre’s clinical expertise and emotional intelligence was nothing short of life-changing. She anticipated not only medical needs but emotional ones too, holding space for both my fear and my hope.

I truly believe her presence during that false alarm at 27 weeks made all the difference in how I experienced my delivery at 27 and 3 days and the early days of my baby’s life.

Rebecca didn’t just provide care—she provided dignity, humanity, and healing at a time when I needed it most. I will carry Rebecca’s kindness and strength with me for the rest of my life, and our lives will forever be intertwined because my sweet baby shares Rebecca’s birthday. I look forward to sharing photos and building a friendship with Rebecca as she ascends in her professional career here. She is the face of the best of JHH Maternity nursing.

It’s rare to meet someone who can turn such a frightening experience into a memory of grace and empowerment. For this and so much more, I wholeheartedly nominate Rebecca for this honor.
