Camille received two nominations. One was from a patient. The other was from her manager. The patient describes Camille as being very direct, empathetic, and caring. Camille goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and at ease with your discomfort or embarrassment. Her manager shared the following story - Camille was outside a patient’s room and heard him calling out to God. Camille and the patient talked about church. She asked if he would like a visit from our chaplain. Not long after the chaplain arrived, he requested a towel and told Camille the patient was requesting to be baptized, and did she want to participate. With a resounding ‘yes’, she went to his bedside and held his hand. The patient held onto the certificate he received from the chaplain for the rest of the day. His niece (his primary visitor) arrived, and he shared the experience with her. The patient and the niece shared tears as it had apparently been something he had been wanting to do. Two days after he was baptized, the patient had a rapid decline and, within a few hours, died. When the niece came to his bedside, the baptismal certificate was the first thing she picked up to take home with her.
