When I see that Scott is working, I actually breathe a sigh of relief because I know that he wants what's best for the patients, and he'll do whatever he can to help.
I'm reaching out because I want to praise Scott Singh.  Yesterday, Scott had an assignment and was the charge RN.  I watched him attend to his patients while also frequently helping the other nurses.

While I was covering part of 4DSU, I also had patients on 5 Surge.  I had a patient on the other unit, who the staff couldn't get an IV on (which she desperately needed), and she was upset that she had been stuck so many times, so she was refusing any more attempts.  Since I know how good Scott is at placing IVs, I asked if he would mind going over to 5 Surge to place an IV on this patient, who was not his patient or even on his unit.  He didn't hesitate to say yes, and we walked to 5 Surge so I could show him the patient.  It took him several attempts to place it (she was an EXTREMELY difficult stick), but because he developed such a nice rapport with her, she didn't even mind.  She actually thanked him profusely.

When I see that Scott is working, I actually breathe a sigh of relief because I know that he wants what's best for the patients, and he'll do whatever he can to help.  He also manages to develop such a good rapport with his patients that I notice much fewer patient/family issues in his areas.

Also, because of his sense of humor and approachable demeanor, I feel that he really boosts morale on the unit.

I truly feel that he deserves to be recognized for what he brings to the patients and staff.

The following nurse has never refused to step into any situation and help out an RN or patient. I’ve never heard Scott say no!

Scott is spectacular.  Perfect team player.  Always easy to find, always with a good attitude, and always ready to help.   He's the best charge Nurse.
