She was so genuine and helpful with my son; she played with him and loved him like he was her own. I felt that my son was safe and cared for during her shifts with us.
My 1-year-old was admitted to the hospital, which filled me as a mom with tons of anxiety, stress, fear, and sadness for my little one. He’s been dealing with very complex medical issues since birth, and it has been a never-ending wave of doctors, therapies, and hospital visits, so having him admitted to the hospital to diagnose yet another complex condition in his life was heartbreaking. Our entire experience was made so much easier by our nurse, Paula, on the pediatric unit. She was so comforting, kind, friendly, and honest with us. My son is blind, and for most people, they get a little nervous when interacting with him, but not Paula. She was so genuine and helpful with my son; she played with him and loved him like he was her own. I felt that my son was safe and cared for during her shifts with us. She went out of her way to make sure he had everything he needed, as well as supporting and hearing me out as a mother. She really deserves this recognition, it’s very difficult to be in the hospital with your child, but having a nurse like her makes the stay a WORLD of difference. I can’t thank her enough for being the person and nurse that she is, and I hope that she gets this recognition.
