I received excellent care from all staff during my stay, but one moment in particular stood out to me and will touch me for a long time going forward. I spent several days inpatient and was dealing with a new diagnosis, pain, and anxiety. One early morning, my anxiety got the best of me. I felt physically and emotionally the weight of everything I was going through. That was when my aide, J, came to comfort me and validate my feelings, and soon thereafter, Teresa swooped in. She promptly had interventions to offer to help me. She wrapped me up with warm blankets, and after spending days alone with no visitors of mine, I don’t think she realized just how much her embrace truly meant to me. I was tearful, and all she said was, "I will stay." If I could nominate the entire staff, I would. But this person and moment touched me deeply.
