My brother was very nervous about his stay in Research, as he was far from home with no family nearby. The first night, he was alone and scared of the resolution of his pain. Two prior surgeries showed him that the pain doesn’t always get resolved with surgeries. Unable to walk and in a city with no immediate family, he was on edge. The first night, he didn’t want to listen to the nurse's advice. Thursday, his local family in KC got news of his stay here at Research. The nurse stuck by his side every other night shift. The nurse raised his spirit and gave great advice on recovery. He said he wishes the nurse were closer to Warrensburg so they could hang out once he gets out of the hospital. We would like to thank this nurse for going above and beyond to help him through the scary first night alone in Kansas City, and so far from home. He isn’t one to take time to complement anyone, but he wanted to make sure that he somehow let the hospital know that this nurse was an awesome help and made his stay here more tolerable.
