She decorated my infusion room for my birthday and constantly made sure I had extra warm blankets through cold capping.
Toni is an amazing, caring, kind, genuine nurse. She is like a ray of sunshine every time you see her. You can't really tell if Toni is having a bad day because she is constantly smiling and very focused on her patients. Being diagnosed with cancer at 33, is quite a surprise and not a good one of course. Being told I had to go through chemo was completely unexpected and scary.
Toni made every infusion visit comfortable. She was very attentive to me and anything I felt I needed. She made it much less scary. She treated me like I was a close friend or family. She decorated my infusion room for my birthday and constantly made sure I had extra warm blankets through cold capping. Toni is who got me through my chemo treatments. Toni is the reason I stayed at Dana Farber. I love my doctor, but I rarely see her. Toni is the face that patients see and deal with regularly and she is the kind of person you want in that position.
The nurses at Dana Farber, for the most part, are all friendly and amazing and I could not be more grateful to them. They are your frontline and they are making Dana Farber the place to go. My last chemo treatment was yesterday and I have to say, it was almost bitter sweet. I am so glad its over, but I will miss Toni so much. Her compassion is above anyone I have ever met and I will be forever grateful to her.
I always looked forward to seeing her. Thank you to Toni for everything, I owe her so much and thank you to Dana Farber for having nurses like Toni. She works so hard and gives her all to her patients and that work ethic is hard to find.
