I am a former patient of the Mayo Wound Care Clinic in Osseo. Upon my arrival, I was in a strange hospital, where I knew no one. Everyone, and everything was new to me. Nor did I entirely understand what was taking place, nor the seriousness of my injury. I was unable to walk or even stand due to my operation and my injury. I really knew nothing about my medical situation, nor what to expect.

After being introduced to the nurses and their aids, three of the staff clearly and distinctly stood out as being very professional and very dedicated to their jobs. They were wound care nurse Nikki, along with S the physical therapist, and the night shift nurse, E. During my stay in the wound care unit in Osseo, Nikki clearly stood out as a nurse of rare and capable knowledge, with a willing and untiring work ethic. She appeared to be very willing to go well beyond her normal responsibilities and duties.

Nikki took it upon herself to explain things and work on me. She would explain everything while she continued working on my wound. She explained everything from what she was doing, along with why she was doing it, and how she was doing it. Also, the issues with my type of injury and the ramifications. I have never seen anyone work that hard at their job. From what I was told by several co-workers, this is Nikki’s regular behavior and work routine with all her patients.

Every day, Nikki’s knowledge and skills became more evident. Her medical assistance and care have left a huge impression on me and my family. Nikkis’ skilled knowledge, appearance and attitude are exceptional and a positive example for all the Mayo Clinic staff, along with all medical personnel elsewhere in the medical profession. Mayo Wound Clinic and the entire Mayo system can take pride in Nikki’s capable handling of the tasks given to her, regardless of the complexity required of her skills. It is very apparent to all that Nikki has fully prepared herself long before she accepts a task. Her performance was superb and clearly demonstrates that she is an outstanding wound care nurse, and that she possesses all the traits desired in a special care unit.

Nikki has consistently displayed a positive attitude, initiative and professional competence. Her attention to detail and abilities enable her to function in two different hospitals in a commendable fashion. Nikki’s outstanding manner and highest standards have always been evident. She demands untiring respect for what she has achieved, and she deserves. Only admiration and respect for her ability and success.

Nikki’s contributions extend the utmost sincere appreciation. Her diligent and capable efforts have contributed to my recovery, and it is very clear that her loyal and capable excellence is second to none. Her medical treatment was the very best. Nikki has stood out as the best medical person I have encountered. Nikki is an exceptional nurse who has demonstrated that she can accept responsibilities and perform her duties in an outstanding manner. She has demonstrated great career potential. She is undoubtedly one of the finest individuals that I have ever had the pleasure to know.

Nikki is the type of person and nurse we need more of. I am certain that Nikki will excel at anything she attempts. This type of performance should be commended. Her characteristics, knowledge and personality should be passed on to all in the medical profession. Nikki has always demonstrated the highest standards and worked untiredly to achieve them. It is gratifying to recognize her performance.

I want to thank Nikki for her efforts and wish her continued success in her future endeavors. It is because of nurses like Nikki that Mayo enjoys a high standard and reputation for professional excellence. In all respects, Nikki has shown care, ability, and dedication along with qualifications so critical to her chosen career field.
