Justin made the most significant impact on my experience and my care. When I came upstairs, Justin was a breath of fresh air, made me feel safe, and that someone was actually caring for me after spending 13 stressful hours on a stretcher in the ED waiting for a bed upstairs to open. Justin was a caring professional, he was an active listener, took time to understand my rare condition and the impacts that meant for my care plan, and he made it feel like he actually cared and wanted to take care of me and ensure I got quality care. I felt so comfortable and confident in his care that I asked the charge nurse to match him with me again after his day off. Only when he was my nurse did I feel I didn’t need to be advocating and watching everything that was being done to prevent potential harm to the point where my family member (dad) could actually leave to go get a meal and shower instead of having to continually try to hunt down care or get someone to truly listen. My experience here would have been completely different without Justin. He is a dedicated clinician who understands the art and science of clinical and compassionate care. I saw a sign to submit this form when I was refilling my water, and I had to make sure that it was known what a stellar person you have on your team.
