She is a caring and compassionate nurse. She has been recognized by her patients for going above and beyond. There was one particular patient in particular who talked about the great care he received from Kaci. He was the greeter of our unit. He placed a sign on his room door about how great his care was. The patient then had an incident with physical therapy and wanted to leave AMA. The patient had orders for walking ambulation sats, however he had not been out of bed other than to the chair and had a PT evaluation pending.

When physical therapy came to assess the patient, he got upset and refused to work with therapy and wanted to leave AMA. Kaci sat and had a talk with the patient, and he agreed to stay and also agreed to have therapy come and work with him. Once he was discharged, he wrote a letter to express how grateful he was and how wonderful Kaci treated him. Kaci has done numerous things to be recognized, but this stood out to me.
