My experience was nothing short of warm and comforting, and every single person involved in my care made me feel truly seen and supported. As a nurse myself and a healthy young woman, I never imagined I would find myself in a situation where I needed a nurse to care for me, especially not in the heartbreaking circumstances I was facing. Expecting my first child, I was overwhelmed with beautiful emotions at the thought of bringing new life into this world. But in the blink of an eye, all of that hope and joy were taken away, and my world felt like it had shattered into pieces. The days leading up to the D&C were filled with so many conflicting emotions and fear, doubt, anxiety, and a deep sense of confusion. I couldn't understand why this was happening to me, and I wondered if I even had the strength to go through with it. When I met Maryann, everything changed. From the very first moment she was introduced to me as my nurse, she looked me in the eye, and instantly offered a sense of calm that I didn't know I needed. She took the time to explain everything she was doing and what to expect regarding the procedure, making sure I understood every step. As I sit here in tears writing this, I can't even begin to express how thankful I am for Maryann's heartfelt care.
