The first thing I remember after regaining consciousness was your hands gently rubbing my face and your voice asking me to speak to you. When I was finally able to speak, I could hear relief in your voice as you announced to the others that I was recovering.
It is difficult to find the words to properly express my gratitude to a young, beautiful nurse who took action to save my life recently. I'm sure that I am not the first soul that you have pulled back to a breathing heart beating conscious state, but I'm so happy that God put you in my path and allowed me to be another one of your patients that was blessed by your expert touch. The first thing I remember after regaining consciousness was your hands gently rubbing my face and your voice asking me to speak to you. When I was finally able to speak, I could hear relief in your voice as you announced to the others that I was recovering. It didn't take much time for me to realize that I had been in serious medical trouble. It also didn't take much time for me to realize that you had been the one to use your skills to get me out of my dilemma. Thereafter, you chose to sit with me and observe my condition and explain what had occurred. Then you personally, along with another, took me to the ICU where I received continued expert care. I also want to thank you for visiting me the following day to inquire about my condition. I spent several years in the U.S. Navy during the early to mid-seventies. Part of those years our country was engaged in war. I'll never forget a photograph that was in a book issued to each of us sailors. It was a photo of the Helmsman standing at the wheel of the ship guiding the vessel through a storm. Immediately behind him was Jesus, standing tall and helping him guide the ship through the storm. I'm sure that while you and I may not have physically seen Him standing behind you while you were saving a life, I can assure you, He was there helping a wonderful nurse named Kayla, to save another life. I want you to know that I will forever be indebted to you. My wife, my daughter, and I thank you for the precious gift that you have afforded to our family.
