She got on the floor with me and massaged my back, had me doing yoga, kept me up and moving, and provided calming strength and reassurance through it all.
My husband and I are first-time parents and honestly had absolutely no clue what we were about to experience when I gave birth to our daughter. I was terrified, even though I was trying to play it cool and make jokes. B was absolutely incredible every step of the way. She had the best personality, an amazing sense of humor, and such a calming presence. She was my nurse at the start of my induction, as well as my nurse the following night when my daughter was born. The amount of relief I felt when I saw her walk into the room that second night is indescribable. I had been in labor all day and was just not making any progress. I was scared of a C-section and wanted to avoid it at all costs. I just knew as soon as she came in that she was going to do everything she could to get this baby out as safely as possible. And boy did she. She got on the floor with me and massaged my back, had me doing yoga, kept me up and moving, and provided calming strength and reassurance through it all.

In the end, my daughter came out in 3 pushes with no tearing, and I know in my heart that I have B to thank for that. I have sung her praises far and wide since my delivery. B, I hope you know how much of a blessing you are to the patients you help. You have truly found your calling. I have thought about you and prayed for you so often since our daughter was born. I know it can seem like such a thankless job sometimes, but I want you to know that you have a whole family of supporters over here. I have heard so many mothers say that their labor experience was traumatic, and I absolutely believe that you are the only reason mine was not. Thank you so, so much!
