AnnMarie is a seasoned AOD working at UPMC West Shore. She has much experience in emergency preparedness and has taken on the role of chair for the UPMC West Shore Emergency Preparedness Committee. She is representing UPMC West Shore on a system level.

Over the past few months, I have seen AnnMarie do many things to prepare our team leader for incident command. She has restructured our tools for each role as well as our documentation to ensure that we are each prepared when needed. She has led us through several simulations and has prepared well for them, and then answered our questions and helped us gain a better understanding of how we can be more efficient. She has done educational sessions for the leaders on how to use Javare. She is quick to respond to our needs.

During the past year, she has supported us in doing after-action forms for events that were not expected. I look to AnnMarie for her expertise in this area. I see her passion for emergency preparedness. She communicates well to give us a heads up that things are happening in this arena and is there to support, so we meet deadlines. She is proactive in planning ahead when things need to be done. She is a resource to all of our teams. AnnMarie is very deserving of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
