My husband came in with a very serious health scare in the middle of the night. We are not from the area, and going to a hospital in a city I’ve never been to before was terrifying. But Elena went above and beyond for my husband. She was so kind to me, I had all our suitcases in tow and was scared for my husband’s life. She did several small things just to help my husband maintain his dignity and for me to know what was happening. She gave my husband washcloths to wipe the vomit off his face when he was ready. She brought him ice chips to make him feel some semblance of okay. She advocated for his care when he continued vomiting long after he was admitted. She ensured he had a choice of crackers and soda for when he was ready to try food. She listened to my concerns and gave me insightful guidance about my husband’s health and what I should expect. Elena was an angel, and I am so grateful to her for her kindness and empathy on one of the scariest nights of my life
