I had a baby late preterm, which required him to have a little extra monitoring on Mother Baby. Despite consistently feeding him formula and colostrum, his blood sugar continued to steadily drop, and he started to have respiratory concerns. Cathy was in our room every 30 minutes to an hour to check our baby's blood sugar, give him glucose gel, and monitor his overall status. She did this in addition to caring for me and several other moms and babies.

Being a nurse myself, I know how busy we kept her the entire shift. However, she was so incredibly kind and supportive throughout our entire stay and never stopped encouraging us through such a difficult time. She gave our baby high-quality care and responded to his dangerously low blood sugars incredibly fast, and advocated for his health the entire stay. Even once he was admitted to the NICU, she continued her constant support of him and me. I truly could not have asked for a better nurse to care for myself and my sweet baby.
