She went above and beyond to connect with an organization that donated beautiful gowns and blankets to dress fetal demise babies in.
Shannon is a wonderful nurse leader. She inspires her peers to work better as a team and elevates the nursing profession to the heights that we can only dream of. An example of this is the photographs she takes for the parents who have experienced birth loss. She spends a lot of time capturing precious moments that these parents can cherish in the future. She went above and beyond to connect with an organization that donated beautiful gowns and blankets to dress fetal demise babies in. Many parents have voiced their gratitude to Shannon for all her extra care and compassion that she has demonstrated. She is very positive and always motivates her staff to work together to improve our perinatal scores. She also motivates her staff by fostering a positive work environment through collaboration and recognition. She is always the first leader to give kudos to her team in most of the staff meetings.
She is known to be very creative in scheduling to accommodate team members' vacation requests. She promotes ethical behavior by setting clear expectations, modeling integrity, and encouraging open communication without fear of retaliation. When we have challenges with fallouts in documentation and consents, she always comes up with great ideas to work on so as to improve the scores. She is always coming in extra and helping out whenever the unit is drowning. She always keeps her calm and is very proactive in maintaining patient safety. Patients are always very complimentary about her leadership. She encourages her team to get certified and assists her team with the PDRP process. She is juggling school and work very efficiently. The night shift feels extremely supported when she is on shift. She is quick to respond to any patient challenges or complaints and always treats everyone fairly and promotes judgment-free communication. She jumps in when faced with OB emergencies and is very thorough with documentation and communication.
