Erin goes above and beyond in caring for neurology patients, and especially epilepsy patients. She has an in-depth knowledge of resources available to patients, and she regularly goes out of her way to make sure that families get what they need to safely manage their child's epilepsy. She is a leader on the nursing team, teaches other nurses, and is proactive in making sure her patients - and all the neurology clinic patients - receive compassionate, timely care. Families regularly ask about her specifically and speak of how helpful she has been for them, whether it has been helping their physician get a medication covered by insurance, providing community resource information, or being the caring person on the phone when families call with a question or concern. She demonstrates how important knowledgeable and caring nurses are for our patients every day. I am proud to work with her, and I learn from her example.

Erin is an absolutely amazing nurse coordinator who is invaluable to not only the TSC Clinic here at Kennedy Krieger but to the entire Neurology Department here as well.
She has been the glue that has held the TSC clinic together over multiple transitions of clinic directors over the past few years. Personally, she has enabled me to not only step in and continue care for this group of medically complex individuals and their families, but also assisted in processes to continue to improve the level of quality care that we provide these individuals. She continues to go the extra mile for these patients and families, but also for members of our clinical team. She is amazingly responsive, organized, and caring in all circumstances. Our patients and families adore her!

Erin has also stepped up an endless number of times to assist in broader neurology coverage and in the training of new neurology nursing staff. She also coordinates care for the epilepsy clinics at Kennedy Krieger and provides the same level of care across the board.
I cannot think of another nurse who would be more deserving of recognition with the DAISY Award than Erin Kelly!

In her daily nursing practice, Erin Kelly demonstrates what it means to be an exceptional nurse. Erin consistently gives her time and effort to provide excellent patient care for all of her patients and their families. Erin is exceptionally reliable. Erin always steps in to help when OPD1 or other clinics are short-staffed, and Erin is quick to go above and beyond to provide support to her teammates. I have seen Erin assist other clinics with IV starts, help with coverage when other clinics are short, navigate exceptionally complicated insurance situations, and keep her clinic running seamlessly. Erin works behind the scenes to make sure her providers, colleagues, and most of all – her patients are successful. Never one to take the spotlight, Erin works diligently and tirelessly for her patients and families. Erin is an asset to her clinics, the KKI nursing department, and to the nursing profession as a whole. I have heard many families express their appreciation for Erin and for all of her support. Erin takes the time to get to know her patients and families, and to provide personalized, effective care which increases patient satisfaction and positive patient health outcomes.
