When the room and board facility the patient had come from failed to respond to phone calls, Mike took the extra step of contacting the local police department to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, the police found the home empty and marked with a "For Sale" sign. Thanks to Mike’s compassion and diligence, he prevented a special needs patient from being sent to a nonexistent residence, potentially avoiding a dangerous situation.
