Lindsay is not only incredibly caring and kind — she’s also sharp, observant, and dedicated. She takes the time to really know her patients so that nothing important gets missed.
When my dad was admitted to the emergency room in the hospital, it was stressful, and we were feeling overwhelmed. But everything changed when we met Lindsay. She greeted us at the unit with kindness and a warm smile. She listened to everything we had been through and made us feel heard and supported. She was patient, compassionate, and truly seemed to care about both me and my dad.

From the start, Lindsay connected with my dad in a way that no other nurse did. She made him laugh — and he never laughs. That alone meant the world to me. One night during his stay, Lindsay noticed my dad had wet the bed, which was totally out of character for him. Because of his prostate issues, he always insisted on standing to use the bathroom. She knew something wasn’t right and quickly alerted the doctor. Her attention to that small detail led to an MRI, which showed a 5 mm brain mass or bleed in his frontal lobe. When I asked how she knew it was a neurological change, she said it was because “he would never wet the bed.” That level of attention and understanding shows how well she got to know her patient — not just his chart, but him as a person.

Every time Lindsay was his nurse, I knew he was in good hands. She even took the time to call me at night to update me on how he was doing. After he spent time in the ICU, he returned to the unit — and Lindsay was his nurse again. He wasn’t able to speak at that point, but he smiled when he saw her. He hadn’t smiled in days, but he did for her. That says everything.

Lindsay is not only incredibly caring and kind — she’s also sharp, observant, and dedicated. She takes the time to really know her patients so that nothing important gets missed. She gave my dad and me peace of mind during one of the scariest times in our lives. She is exactly the kind of nurse the DAISY Award is meant to honor. Smart, compassionate, and deeply committed to her patients — Lindsay is a true gem, and we are forever grateful for the care she gave my dad.
