My husband is still currently in the CTICU and has been there for 7 weeks, and we have had Josi several times as his nurse. His care has been an intense roller coaster, with highs and lows every other day. She not only demonstrated remarkable clinical expertise but also showed incredible empathy and support to our entire family during an incredibly stressful time. She took the time to explain each step of my husband’s care, always ensuring we felt informed and comforted. I respected the way Josi always talked to S and included him in decision-making even when he was still sedated. Josi's calm presence, along with her ability to make critical decisions with confidence and clarity, provided our family with reassurance and trust in S's care. Her kindness and dedication went far beyond medical tasks— Josi truly treated us like family, and her support made a lasting impact on us. We had a very scary night one night when we thought he might not make it through an emergency surgery. Not only did she call after she went home to see how it went, but she also requested to be our nurse the next day to ensure we had a familiar face. I cannot think of a more deserving nurse for this recognition.
