There are times in life when you will meet someone and know they were meant for their job, and Trisha is an example of this.
Nomination #1:
I was induced for the delivery of my 14-week-old baby girl on Monday morning. Trisha was there from the very beginning of my stay. She was sensitive, kind, and very respectful of the situation my family and I were about to endure. When she learned of my daughter’s name, she addressed her solely by her first name for the rest of our stay.
Even before my daughter was born, Trisha made me feel safe in a situation that felt so scary. Never having birthed a child before and losing our first baby to a miscarriage in September of 2024, I was very scared of going through the birthing process and what it would all entail for both my mental and physical health. Trisha was truly kind and asked all the questions she had for me with respect and kindness, answered our questions with grace, and made sure all of our questions and concerns were addressed.
Trisha was extremely respectful with her care of our daughter after her birth, as she was very respectful by allowing us as much time as we wanted to be with our baby. There are times in life when you will meet someone and know they were meant for their job, and Trisha is an example of this. I do not think we could have asked for a kinder person in this type of situation. She knows how to speak and interact with parents and families who are going through grief. She is the only nurse from this day who did not say anything that rubbed us the wrong way or made us uncomfortable, and I am extremely grateful she is who we had for the majority of our stay.
Nomination #2:
Thank you, Trisha, for who you are as not only a nurse but as a person. You are one of a kind, and you truly made this terrible situation the “best” I could have asked it to be, thanks to you and Dr. McClish.
I came in for labor and delivery. Trisha was so kind and made me feel so comfortable during the process. She is extremely helpful. The doctor was with a C-section patient when I started crowning. Trisha delivered my baby. Even though it could have been a stressful situation, she managed with ease. She made the birthing process so smooth for me. She continued to provide great care for us during our stay. It is really the simple things like bringing my husband and me water, praising/uplifting me that really make the difference. This hospital is lucky to have her, and it was a pleasure to have her by my side during one of my most challenging life moments. I will never forget her!
This is Trisha's 2nd DAISY Award!
