She gave me her hands and told me to hold them. She pulled me towards her and told me to give her a big squeeze, and hugged me during my spinal.
Upon arrival, we were introduced to the nurse, who was so kind and welcoming. I instantly felt better about my surgery. I have a huge fear of needles, so I was struggling with getting an IV, being hooked up, getting a spinal, everything! She gave me her hands and told me to hold them. She pulled me towards her and told me to give her a big squeeze, and hugged me during my spinal. When I was on the OR table and having a panic attack, I felt so much better when I saw her in the room. She asked me if I wanted music on, and was super creative coming up with topics to talk about to distract me. I cannot imagine the day going any other way. She made it so much better than I was expecting. When my children came to meet the new baby, she was also so warm and caring to them. She listened to their stories and told them the types of things she was doing as she worked with the baby in the bassinet. She was a joy to be around and deserves to be recognized. Thank you, nurse. We'll never forget your kindness.
