I wanted to take a moment to brag on my nurse I had this evening, his name is Matt Brown. I am a breast and skin cancer survivor, so I’ve had plenty of experiences with nurses and hospitals, etc. From the moment he entered my room, he helped my experience here today be better in every way. I’ll share a few examples: I had to have a CT scan, and I’m terrified of those; they cause me to have panic attacks. I suffer from Chronic PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Matt calmly explained what was going to happen in the machine and gave me anxiety meds first, so I didn’t break down and panic in that machine, which meant a lot to me. He was extremely attentive and educated me through all the steps that were to be taken and made my needs and concerns a priority; not all nurses do that, and it was a breath of fresh air for this visit. In the past, I haven’t had such a positive experience until today with Nurse Matt. His bedside manner is warm and welcoming. I felt extremely comfortable and wasn’t constantly worrying like I usually do because of his exceptional nursing skills. I hope in the future, if I ever return to the ER her,e that Matt Brown is my nurse every time, he changed my whole thought process on this hospital
