I was alone during most of my stay, but Dylan never made me feel that way.
Dylan took amazing care of me. First, he was present. I didn’t have to look far when I had a question, as he was often right by my side in the moments I needed him most. He caught errors that would have duplicated bloodwork that had already been completed, because he was there when it was taken. He explained all the medications I was taking, so I didn’t have to wonder which made me comfortable because this was not only my first hospital stay but also one that was unexpected.

Dylan went above and beyond - not waiting for the PCP to come in and take my stats - he took my blood pressure and temp as part of his routine, knowing that my blood pressure was extremely low, he worked hard to get my levels up, and he was able to sustain it to my normal levels.

Finally, Dylan was an advocate for me. When I was waiting for MRI testing, he did not cease contacting that department to try to get me prioritized. I was there as he called, so I knew how hard he was trying for me. Once I was able to eat, he was the first to get me a quick snack prior to the kitchen closing.

I was alone during most of my stay, but Dylan never made me feel that way. He should serve as the gold standard that all nurses at Northwestern Medicine strive to be. I’m so thankful for him and hopeful that he receives this note and an award. Dylan, you are the real MVP.
