Rowena helped design and participates weekly in new processes developed for improved federal compliance, and actively promotes this work to her peers, leaders, and staff on a continuous basis.
I have collaborated with Rowena to improve the visibility, accountability, and attention to Controlled Substance medication discrepancies throughout our organization since 2023. Throughout this time, Rowena has been an exemplary partner, offering new ideas and bringing crucial perspectives to this work, helping to strengthen relationships between Medication Security, Unit nursing leaders, and bedside staff.

Rowena's contributions to these larger efforts include (but are not limited to), the development and deployment of an annual education module for Nursing staff, the development of multiple standard work models for leaders & improving the visibility and relatability of Med Security data for her peers. Rowena helped design and participates weekly in new processes developed for improved federal compliance, and actively promotes this work to her peers, leaders, and staff on a continuous basis.

On a more unit-based level, Rowena's efforts with this work have resulted in an overall reduction of controlled substance discrepancies in the CBDC (inpatient) unit, which is tracking as a 32% overall reduction for 2024. Those discrepancies that do occur consistently progress to resolution far more rapidly than at any time in the past.

Rowena has helped bridge the natural gap between the Med Security work and the Nursing Dept much more effectively than I ever could have done on my own.

I do not exaggerate to say that Rowena's contributions demonstrate all 6 of our Core Values (collaboration, innovation, excellence, compassion, equity & innovation), and the benefits of this partnership are already apparent, with further improvement expected as our efforts gather momentum.

Thank you for all that you do!
