My mom just passed away in the CCU unit after a 13-day fight. Jake was our nurse on Friday and Saturday, and HE WAS WONDERFUL!! I can not say enough about the care my mom received. He spoke so sweetly to her while putting the leads on her back. He printed off her heartbeat and gave it to us. The whole time we were in the room with her, waiting on her to pass, Jake was very attentive, constantly checking on us, asking if we needed anything. He consoled me a couple of times when I broke down crying, reassuring me that she was comfortable. My teenage children were there, and Jake was very gentle with them. If they had a question, he answered it honestly and empathetically, which I appreciated. Jake's kindness really set him apart.
