I cannot say enough about your exceptional team of nurses in the ICU. They kept us updated on my husband's condition and went above and beyond in all instances. One of the most memorable examples is the assistance with our transfer. We left New Orleans on Sunday, and on the way back home to Atlanta, my husband complained of heartburn, and 4 hours later, we had to make a pit stop at Jackson Hospital. He actually had a MI and received extraordinary care from the nurses. We were supposed to transfer to UAB on Wednesday, but a bed was not available. After sending Samantha a couple of the doctors from Piedmont and Emory on Thursday morning, she diligently worked on making this transfer happen. We preferred a hospital in Atlanta since we lived here. I screamed when she called and said," We got you a room at Emory Midtown"! She actually flew on the helicopter that brought him to Atlanta and kept me updated on leaving and even when landing. As awful as the scary event has been, it has also been one of the best experiences, and it was all due to the care we received. I thank Samantha for representing the essence of nursing so well.
