Rebecca did not have to do what she did, but she recognized that it was the right thing to do.
I have a history of bruising easily and surface skin layer tearing. Rebecca was empathetic to the nature of my injury and provided my wife and me with positive concern and calmness. She kept us well informed. The main reason for this nomination is her extraordinary effort to save as much skin as possible to facilitate healing and minimize scarring. She spent over an hour meticulously repositioning skin that had been rolled up due to the injury. There were at least three areas that she saved. Her dedication to reapplying the skin was above and beyond.

Upon completion of her skin placement, she went out of her way to ensure that I had the proper materials to care for the wounds upon arrival at home. Rebecca did not have to do what she did, but she recognized that it was the right thing to do. I lost a son to child-onset diabetes and have been in numerous ERs in several states, and have never experienced Rebecca's dedication to Patient Care. I have been retired for 21 years, married for 60 years, 10 months, two sons, and one grandson. I spent 16 years in the Scientific Instrument Business, primarily in the Magnetic Resonance Development (now MRI), and 22 years in the Semiconductor Industry. I worked my way up from an entry-level Electrical Engineer to Engineering and Marketing Management. I am big on Work Hard/Play Hard and Employee Recognition. I get emails and texts all the time from the Health Care Community requesting to participate in Surveys regarding Performance. I mostly reply. Now I am requesting Recognition for one of your Extraordinary Nurses.
