I told her the queen wasn't being taken better care of.
I have had multiple stays at Encore Arkansas Heart Hospital in the past year. So many nurses have made an impact on my care and my heart. Sheri and I connected deep in my soul immediately. I had just gotten through a few of the hardest days I had ever known. I was on the other side of the unknown, but still very raw with emotion. Sheri came in and hugged my heart. My first drink in days, she made me a fresh pot of tea and found Splenda to sweeten it. It was the best tea I'd ever had! I told her the queen wasn't being taken better care of.
Through the next few days, anxiety and fear crept in, and she was there at every turn. Scooping me up, cleaning me up, calming me down, reassuring me that she was going to take care of things, and then she never let me down. You would have never known that she had any other patients. She set up appointments to help me receive the tools and education to heal and help prevent another round of sickness. She walked with me and made sure that I understood the dedications and the details of the plans the doctors were proposing. She even took the time to explain it to my mom. This lady helped heal what was broken, helped to mend how it broke, and made sure I had what I needed to keep it from breaking again. That is so much more than nursing. I am forever blessed to have been in her care. She is beyond deserving.
