I knew from the day I met Kaitlin that she was special, and she has proven that to me time and time again. The role of a CCL demands a person who can wear many hats and has one of the most meaningful leadership roles in the hospital. They are close enough to connect deeply with patients and staff, yet positioned to grow into inspiring leaders. Kaitlin has embraced this role with grace and excellence. What sets Kaitlin apart, and what truly makes her exceptional and deserving of this award, is her deeply personal connection to the patient experience. Her personal experience left her with a profound sense of purpose to be part of patients’ stories, to advocate for them in their most vulnerable moments, and to help shape the care they receive. Kaitlin now makes it a point to visit every postpartum hemorrhage patient in the hospital, offering them her support, her presence, and her hope. That level of compassionate care is unmatched and speaks volumes about the nurse leader she is. I could go on and on about how Kaitlin has impacted our team, our patients, and me personally.
