Brian is such an incredible nurse. I had a patient with a leaking ileostomy appliance, and the family had questions about the best way to minimize skin breakdown. Brian came to see the patient and educated them on how to apply the appliance in a way to prevent leaking. The patient and her daughter mentioned how Brian made them feel at ease with managing the ileostomy. His knowledge, patience, and kind words make such a difference for his patients. His bedside manner is also excellent. Brian is a really great nurse and a huge blessing for our patients, staff, and Sovah. I had an experience with Brian a few months ago that was similar to my patient’s experience today. I talked to him about ostomy care and voiced my fears of skin breakdown when my husband had emergency surgery over the summer and had an ileostomy for several weeks. I was terrified and felt like everything was falling apart, but then Brian told me that everything was going to be okay, and I would do fine helping my husband manage his ostomy. Brian helped me understand that preventing skin breakdown was possible and that we would get through our difficult time. Brian really is such a kind and caring nurse.
