Nick's knowledge of how to recognize cues, pinpoint needs, and implement the best solutions is invaluable.
I was admitted to TG for complications from a difficult surgery. I have had many surgeries before. This time I experienced the most painful and scariest time of my life. No meds would control my pain, and I was not able to find comfort. I was terrified. Suddenly, the new shift began. I believe it was day 3 of my stay, and Nick entered the doorway with a reassuring smile that suddenly made me feel at ease and cared for. Within 2 minutes of Nick being in the room, he not only had a clear understanding of my diagnosis but also of me! He talked to me for a few minutes about my experience, reached out to the doctor, recommended a change of course in medication, and implemented it. Within a few minutes, my pain was tolerable for the first time. It felt life-changing. I felt heard and seen. He had listened to all of my complaints and found a solution better than anything I was imagining. I suddenly felt safe and cozy.

Nick's knowledge of how to recognize cues, pinpoint needs, and implement the best solutions is invaluable. I really don’t have the right words to describe the feeling I felt when Nick took over and saved me. Nick checked on me throughout the shift and was always smiling, which was really contagious. I began to smile even. The hospital was suddenly a whole different place, almost fun? I feel like Nick truly is an angel from heaven. Like the genie of the hospital, granting everyone’s wishes. I don’t know what position Nick holds, but he surely does deserve the recognition! I have had a lot of people help me in my life, but I can guarantee I will never forget Nick and what Nick did for me while I was at my weakest. I remember thinking while lying in a hospital bed, if I won the lottery, this is the first person I would take care of. Invaluable!
