They empowered us to be active participants in our son’s care, teaching us, guiding us, and always treating us with immense respect and empathy.
We are writing to you today with hearts full of gratitude and profound appreciation for the extraordinary care our son received during a long stay in the NICU at Women & Infants Hospital. From the moment he arrived, your team became our lifeline. Our son’s NICU journey was undoubtedly the most challenging period of our lives. As parents, watching our fragile baby fight for every breath and milestone was agonizing. Yet, through every fear, every setback, and every triumph, the unwavering dedication and compassion of your entire staff shone through, making an unbearable situation manageable and, at times, even hopeful. We particularly wish to recognize two remarkable individuals who became an indispensable part of our family during our time with you: our baby’s primary care nurses, Tina and Nancy.
From the moment they became our son’s nurses, Tina and Nancy embraced him with a love and devotion that went far beyond their professional duties. They cared not just as nurses, but as if our baby were their own. Their expertise was evident in every delicate touch, every precise medication, and every insightful observation they made about progress. More than that, it was their boundless compassion and emotional support that truly set them apart. They celebrated every tiny victory with us, offered comfort during moments of despair, and always took the time to explain everything, reassuring us when we felt most vulnerable. They knew our child’s cues, preferences, and even moods, making us feel that he was always in the safest and most loving hands. Their presence made the NICU feel a little less daunting and a lot more like a second home. The journey of a NICU parent is isolating, but Tina and Nancy ensured we never felt alone. They empowered us to be active participants in our son’s care, teaching us, guiding us, and always treating us with immense respect and empathy.
We also want to commend the entire NICU team during morning rounds, who consistently ensured we were an integral part of our child’s healthcare decision planning. They took the time to clearly explain every medical procedure, medication, and test, making sure we fully understood and felt heard. Their kindness and unwavering support were a constant source of strength for our family. Please extend our deepest thanks to Tina and Nancy. They are true angels on earth, and their impact on our baby’s life, and ours, is immeasurable. They exemplify the very best of nursing and the incredible human spirit. We are eternally grateful to every doctor, nurse, respiratory therapist, social worker, and support staff member who contributed to our baby’s care. Because of your collective dedication, professionalism, and heart, our child is now home, thriving, and bringing immense joy to our lives. Thank you all for leading such an exceptional team and for providing a place where miracles happen every day.
