Here's a long overdue and much deserved DAISY for the one and only Katie. For all the times you have saved patients from surgical site infections, eased patients and parents during a very scary time of separation for surgery, and for your incredible compassion and empathy during all aspects of your care for your patients. From singing Disney songs to holding a patient's hand to cracking jokes, you are always making sure your patients feel safe and protected. Your incredible attention to detail and treating every surgery as if it were your own family is truly remarkable. You have reached out to social work when seeing concerns with a patient to ensure their safety. You have spoken up even during intense situations to advocate for your patients. You are truly a one-of-a-kind nurse that CHOP is incredibly lucky to have. So here's the DAISY for all the times that your work in the OR may go "unseen" by families but have an everlasting impact on your patients.
