Thank you, Brittany, for all you did for me. You're a rockstar, and I am so thankful to have had you!
I came in for induction at 4 am. Shortly into this, there was a shift change. I got Brittany, and I am so glad. She went above and beyond for me all day during my first induction and birth. She wouldn't let an alarm go off more than 2 seconds before coming in and checking on us. After my epidural, she gave me a peanut ball and rotated me constantly to help move the process along. These may be ordinary things for a shift and for a nurse, but her patience and compassion were more present than in most interactions I've had. We joked that if my baby hadn't come by shift change, she would have to clock in for overtime, and I meant it.

Now to my birth. This is my first child, and I had no idea what to expect. Brittany was there, calm, and incredibly encouraging the whole time. I firmly believe she could have delivered the baby by herself - this isn't anything but a compliment to how she handled herself in the most vulnerable time of my life, which was incredible by the way. I felt so comfortable with her in the room, and her confidence made me feel like I was right where I needed to be. I truly want to thank her for the support and encouragement during this difficult time. She was absolutely incredible and made my entire birth story one of comfort and joy. In every medical setting, you will come across all types of nurses, and sometimes, if you're lucky, like I was, you get a nurse who was absolutely meant to be a nurse, as it all just seemed so natural to her.

Thank you, Brittany, for all you did for me. You're a rockstar, and I am so thankful to have had you!

Note: This is Brittany's 2nd DAISY Award!
