Because of Hannah's quick thinking, he was rushed to the ICU and his life was saved that night.
My husband was admitted with critically low potassium levels. He was nearly completely paralyzed from the low electrolytes. He started having shortness of breath. We called for his nurse, and she rushed on and checked his vitals; all looked great. She suggested giving it a little bit and seeing if it will pass. Ten to fifteen minutes later, he was feeling worse. I ran over to the nurse's station and asked Hannah to come in. She checked his vitals again, and they looked great. She gave him some oxygen and thought maybe he was a little anxious, but there was no improvement. She checked his heart monitor box and saw some PVCs. She ran out to look at the board to get a better view of his rhythm. She noticed he was in bigeminy. She immediately started getting doctors called and got a rapid response called for him. The ICU doctor was fully prepared and expecting him to have a major cardiac event based on how he was presenting. Because of Hannah's quick thinking, he was rushed to the ICU and his life was saved that night. All the staff on the unit are amazing humans, but Hannah went above and beyond her normal superhero status that night.
