Kelsey deserves this award as she exemplifies all the qualities of the DAISY Award recipient, and then some! Kelsey is engaging with all the patients she serves. Whether they have just had a stroke and came from the hospital for more rehab with many medical issues, or they are long-term residents and have health conditions requiring oversight.
Kelsey is an excellent educator. She provides information that is meaningful and delivered in a fashion that the patient understands. She is approachable and always gives her undivided attention to anyone asking for her help.
Kelsey understands other clinicians' scope of practice and takes the initiative to collaborate with them as needs arise, such as skin integrity with splint wearing schedules for PT or OT, or monitoring lung sounds for those with severe dysphagia.
Kelsey is excellent with timely communication needs with our physicians, anticipating their needs, and is informative and concise, which is very helpful in bringing them up to speed. Kelsey has great assessment and problem-solving skills.
Kelsey is reliable and friendly, with a smile on her face, and makes sure all needs are met for patients and caregivers. She displays kindness, which helps the consumers feel cared for and heard.
