Storm was my nurse in the ICU. I was intubated for five days. When they took me off the Fentanyl to bring me out of the intubation, I was a raving, foul-mouthed hellion. Storm came to check on me many times, and who knows what obscenities I screamed in her face as I was strapped to the bed. She was kind and very attentive, even when I was insisting the aliens in the parking lot were making me have their devil babies.

I lay in that bed for hours screaming my lungs out, and Storm would come in to check on me all the time. She was an excellent nurse above and beyond the call of duty. My sister was in the room a lot of the time, and she was also very impressed with Storm. I ended up spending half my time in Michigan City and the other half at Crown Point Franciscan. Total time was five days short of a month. I met so many good nurses and other people whom I really liked, but Storm in the ICU is the one I would give this award to. She went above and beyond.
